About Harmony of Faith

Our mission

Harmony of Faith is a nonprofit performing arts organization dedicated to bringing people of diverse faiths, traditions, and backgrounds together through music, collaboration, and community engagement. Through large-scale musical productions and other artistic experiences, we create opportunities for people who might not otherwise meet to work alongside one another, build meaningful relationships, and discover common ground.

Our work is deeply influenced by the Christian musical and artistic tradition, including works centered on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ and themes such as love, sacrifice, hope, compassion, forgiveness, and service. We present these works as meaningful expressions of faith and art while creating an environment that welcomes participation from people of many religious traditions and perspectives.

Interfaith at our core

Interfaith cooperation is central to the mission of Harmony of Faith. We believe stronger communities are built when people have opportunities to know one another personally, appreciate both their similarities and their differences, and work together toward something meaningful. Our productions bring musicians, singers, volunteers, community organizations, and audiences together around a shared artistic experience in which each participant is welcomed and respected.

Harmony of Faith does not require participants to share a particular religious belief or affiliation. We value the distinct identities and traditions represented within our organization and seek to foster an atmosphere where people can participate authentically without pressure to change or minimize their beliefs. Our goal is to encourage understanding through relationship and shared experience rather than through religious persuasion.

Why music

Music provides a particularly powerful setting for this work. Sacred and faith-inspired music has shaped cultures and communities for centuries, expressing some of humanity’s deepest experiences of grief, joy, sacrifice, hope, and love. By bringing people together to perform and experience this music, we seek to preserve and celebrate that artistic tradition while using it as a bridge between individuals and communities.

Through excellence in the performing arts, intentional interfaith collaboration, and service to the communities in which we perform, Harmony of Faith seeks to strengthen relationships, encourage mutual understanding, and demonstrate the good that can be accomplished when people from different backgrounds create something meaningful together.

Our impact: who takes part

Our productions bring together people at every stage of their musical lives:

• Middle school and high school orchestra and band students
• Professional musicians and music educators who volunteer their time
• Community volunteer musicians and singers
• A full community choir

Students rehearse and perform alongside experienced professionals, gaining exposure to high-level musicianship, discipline, and mentorship that would otherwise be out of reach for many of them. Working side by side builds confidence, musical skill, and friendships across generations, schools, and traditions.

Our vision

We envision communities in which differences in faith do not prevent friendship, cooperation, or mutual respect, and where the arts provide a welcoming place for those relationships to begin.
